Self-rescue treatment of various burns and scalds

   First degree burn


   Put the burned area under running water and gently rinse it, or soak it in cold water for about 10 minutes until it doesn’t hurt. If you can’t rinse or soak, use a cold compress.


  Before the injury is swollen, carefully remove the accessories, belts, shoes or other tight clothing.


  A dressing can be used and bandaged if necessary.


   second degree burn


   Put the burned area in cold water or running water and gently rinse it until the pain stops. Use cold compresses for areas that cannot be rinsed or soaked.


   Use a clean cloth to absorb moisture from the wound.


   Cover the wound with sterile gauze and bandage it.


   Seek medical treatment as appropriate.


   If the hands and feet are injured, the injured area needs to be raised to reduce swelling.


   Treatment of third degree burns


   Ask the patient to lie down and raise the injured area (higher than the heart).


   Inspect the patient in detail for other injuries and keep the airway open.


   Don't try to remove the clothes sticking to the wound, you can cut the underwear if necessary.


   Cover the wound with a thick antiseptic dressing or clean cloth to protect the wound.


   Do not apply any ointment or medicine.
