Scald scars What is a scald scar
Many people have experienced scalds in their lives, and some will leave scars, which affects their beauty. So what exactly are scald scars, what kind of emergency treatment should be taken after scald, how to treat scald scars, and how to prevent scald scars, let's take a look together.
Scars are formed after the skin tissue of the human body has been traumatized by the outside world, and the fibrous connective tissue of the wound healing area is filled, connected, supported, and protected from the normal scald scar tissue. In other words, the formation of scars is a normal biological repair process of the human body. If there is no scar repair after the wound, the wound cannot heal.
What is a burn scar
Sometimes the trauma only damages the epidermis of the skin or the superficial layer of the dermis, such as sunburn, superficial abrasions, burns, etc., without affecting the germinal layer of the skin, there will be no scars, of course, this is only very small Trauma. Due to the true meaning of trauma caused by scalds, when the entire layer of skin is damaged, fibrous connective tissue will proliferate in large numbers, forming a hard, scald scar with irregular edges similar to crab feet or centipedes.
No current treatment method can completely eliminate the scar. Therefore, scar prevention is better than cure.
First aid after scald
1. Quickly avoid the heat source;
2. Adopt "cold heat dissipation" measures, continuously rinse the wounded part with cold water under the faucet, or soak the wound in a container containing cold water for 30 minutes, after the pain has been significantly alleviated after leaving the cold source. This will allow the wound to dissipate heat quickly and thoroughly, constrict the blood vessels in the skin, reduce exudation and edema, relieve pain, reduce the formation of blisters, and prevent scar formation on the wound surface. This is a good and feasible treatment plan after burns;
3. Cut the underwear covering the wound to avoid making the skin scald become heavier;
4. Do not use colored medicines such as red medicine or purple medicine for wounds, so as not to affect the doctor's judgment on the depth of scald, and do not use alkali surface, soy sauce, toothpaste, etc., to avoid infection;
5. The blisters can be punctured with a sterile needle at a low position. The wound surface should be covered and protected by a disinfecting dressing or clean clothes during transportation; it is worth noting: after the scald occurs, do not rub, massage, or squeeze the scalded skin. Hurry to wipe with a towel. Burns are very painful for children. Therefore, parents have to tell him the danger of playing with fire, matches and gas cookers from the age of 3, and teach children not to make trouble in the kitchen. Don't put the kettle in the home on the bright side, and don't put the thermos on the side of the bed beside the table, so as to avoid burns caused by children falling over; adults should pay more attention.
